Fernwood gives to Marine Mammal Stranding Center

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ -- Fernwood Avenue Middle School Student Council representatives presented $500 to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine Tuesday, Nov. 29, a day recognized as Giving Tuesday.
Held on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday was conceived to kick off the charitable season and encourage people to focus on holiday and end-of-year giving.
The Fernwood Student Council held at Teacher’s Pet of the Year contest to raise money for the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, a nonprofit organization that rescues stranded whales, dolphins, seals and sea turtles that have washed ashore in New Jersey.
